This is a private, community-oriented group for homeschooling families living long-term in Da Nang, Vietnam.

We are a small and committed network of families—both expat and local—who value consistency, connection, and creative learning experiences. This group is not for tourists or short-term stays.

💬 Who Should Join

We welcome families with children
aged 5–11 who are:

  • Actively homeschooling full-time

  • Committed to living in Da Nang long-term

  • Interested in participating regularly
    (2–3 meetups/month)

  • Respectful, community-minded, and eager to grow together

This is not a casual drop-in group. Families must apply and be approved before joining events. We’re focused on building lasting connections and a committed community for both kids and parents.

📚 What We Do

Our community offers a mix of free meetups and paid clubs. Here’s what we do regularly:

  • Craft & Games Club – every Tuesday

  • Baking / Cooking Club – once a month

  • Swimming Club – every Friday

  • Taekwondo Club – weekly sessions

  • Drop-in Co-Study Club (ages 8–10) – workbook-based learning, twice weekly

  • Book Club – once a month

  • Field Trips – once a month

  • Playdates & Meetups – casual gatherings throughout the month

We focus on low-screen, high-engagement learning and creative, real-world experiences.

💡 Some activities are free casual meetups, while others have a separate cost to cover instructors, materials, or venues. These costs are in addition to the annual membership.

Example activity fees:

  • Baking / Cooking Club:
    150,000–250,000 VND per session

  • Swimming Club:
    ~900,000 VND per month

How Activities Work

Our group is parent-led. Families share their skills by organizing activities like cooking, art, reading, or games.

We also occasionally bring in local teachers or helpers for special workshops or field trips.

Most activities are included in your membership, though some may have a small extra cost if supplies or outside instructors are needed.

Membership

To keep our community organized and sustainable, there is a yearly membership fee of $40 USD (1,000,000 VND) per family.

  • Membership runs September–September and must be renewed each year.

  • This fee helps cover group coordination, admin time, and basic community costs.

  • The membership fee helps cover all the essential background work that goes into keeping the community running smoothly — things like administration, back-and-forth communication with venues, negotiating and exploring new places and activities, interviewing and welcoming new families, and coordinating WhatsApp groups.

    Much of this work goes unseen, but it’s vital to making sure everything stays organized and accessible for families. Just as importantly, the fee creates a sense of shared commitment. By contributing, families show they are invested in showing up, participating, and being part of the community. This strengthens the group as a whole and helps us grow together in a meaningful way.

  • Membership gives your family access to:

    • Our private WhatsApp homeschool community chat

    • The monthly activity schedule (clubs, meetups, field trips, playdates)

    • Invitations to special trips, workshops, and events

    • A supportive network of homeschooling families living long-term in Da Nang

    Most activities are included, but some special workshops or field trips may have a small extra cost if supplies, venues, or outside teachers are needed.

  • Yes. All families — including those who volunteer or host events — pay the yearly membership fee. This keeps the community fair and equal for everyone.

    If a parent leads an activity that requires supplies, a venue, or extra preparation, they are welcome to charge a small fee to cover those costs.

  • This group is designed for families staying 1 year or more. If you’re here short-term, this community may not be the best fit.
